Vienna, Austria. October 24th, 2023 – ToolsOnAir, a leading provider of broadcast solutions for the macOS and Linux platforms, released version 6 of just: in mac and just:in linux, version 5 of just:live and just:live and the first releases of just:in mac lite.
“With NAB NYC 2023 starting this week, we are pleased to release new major versions of our flagship ingest and playout solutions and thrilled to introduce a new addition to our macOS product line, namely just:in mac lite. This new single application solution shares the same flexible and reliable capture engine of just:in mac and covers the indispensable recording functions of broadcast and production environments that might not require the full feature set of our flagship ingest solutions or are in demand for a budget-friendly capture solution. ” says Peter Steiner, Head of Worldwide Sales at ToolsOnAir.
New Version 6 of ToolsOnAir’s Client Server Ingest Solutions for macOS and Linux
Version 6 of just:in mac will feature exciting improvements to confirm our commitment to the macOS platform. Highly mentionable are the new Capture Preset Overlay features, to apply overlays such as burnt-in time code or logos, as well as diverse forms of static and/or dynamic data to recordings, followed by the valuable option to choose either CPU or hardware-accelerated encoding when using the new Apple silicon models, to overcome possible encoding limitations, up to the powerful new REST API, enhanced support for AJA’s Io 4K Plus Thunderbolt device, support for the new Blackmagic Design ST-2110 cards and seamless integration into the iconik Media Management and Collaboration platform.
Version 6 of just:in linux includes the redesigned iconik integration, an enhanced REST API to improve integration flexibility with third-party systems, advanced metadata handling to secure data entry compliance and an improved file overwrite strategy.
New Version 5 of ToolsOnAir’s Client-Server Playout Solutions for macOS
Version 5 of just:live and just:play, introduces NDI® in/out capabilities, including VANC data support, as well as additional output formats, a redesigned audio engine and enhanced Rules workflow. The new NDI® I/O support unlocks the possibility to receive NDI® streams as a Live Input signal or to provide a NDI® High Bandwidth output signal, as an alternative to a traditional SDI output. SRT, UDP, and ST-2110 support will follow in an upcoming point release of version 5.
The redesign of the audio engine now relies on native SDK support to improve audio stability and multichannel performance. These additions significantly enhance the flexibility and versatility of our playout solutions, empowering broadcasters to achieve their creative vision with ease.
All macOS-based solutions are ready to be run on macOS Sonoma, and all client-server-based ingest and playout solutions will feature SDI, NDI®, SRT, UDP, and ST 2110 inputs and outputs throughout the version 5 release cycle.
NEW – Single Application just:in mac lite for macOS
The new single application for macOS, just:in mac lite, is positioned as a powerful entry-level capture product, with up to 8 channels of SDI/NDI® recording capability using ProRes, H.264, H.265, and XDCAM HD 422 (MXF) codecs and is introduced at a very competitive price point.
