Please find a list of Error Codes for ToolsOnAir Capture solutions below.
Error Code/Messages | Description | Application(s) involved | Solution Proposal/Explanation |
|---|---|---|---|
NO SIGNAL/No signal | Shown in the Channel Viewer and in the Messages section in the Inspector. This is generally the case when there’s no input signal at all or a wrong input signal is present. When using SDI, this means that there is no incoming signal at all or a signal not matching the manually selected Video Format of the engine. For NDI based signals, it means that the incoming IP signal is either not matching the manually selected Video Mode of the engine or in the wrong format (e.g., Progressive vs. Interlaced) | Just In Mac Lite | Use Auto Mode when the Video Mode is not persistent. |
WRONG FORMAT | Shown in the Channel Viewer | Just In Mac Lite | The WRONG FORMAT message is displayed when the source signal and the video do not match. Recording is disabled. Change the video mode to Auto to circumvent the error message and proceed with recording. |
CONFIGURATION | Shown in the Channel Viewer | Just In Mac Lite | Please ensure that both a Capture Preset and a Destination Preset are selected in the corresponding Channel. |
Write Error (Storage) | Shown in the Messages section in the Just Control Inspector. | Just In Mac Lite | Please ensure that the storage destination is available and has enough space to write on. |
Write Error (H.264) | Shown in the Messages section in the Just Control Inspector. | Just In Mac Lite | Please ensure that either the “Main Auto Level” or “High Auto Level” H.264 profiles are selected. |
Encoding error | Shown in the Messages section in the Inspector. | Just In Mac Lite | Check the codec and profile configuration. |
Format changed | Shown in the Messages section in the Just Control Inspector. | Just In Mac Lite | This message appears every time a video mode/format is changed when running the Channel in Auto Mode (e.g., incoming signal source changed from 1080i50 to 1080p25). |
Dropped frames | Shown in the Messages section in the Inspector. | Just In Mac Lite | Please ensure that you are receiving a proper and stable NDI stream. |
Recording stopped | Shown in the Messages section in the Inspector. | Just In Mac Lite | When configuring a channel in the Configuration panel, you can enable the option “Restart on No Signal If Not Recording” to automatically restart the channel after a signal loss. Depending on the selected behavior—“Close container, write to new” or “Close container and stop”—the engine will either continue recording in a new file or stop the recording task entirely. |
