Release history for Just Play Pro and Just Live Pro 2026.

The following release notes apply to Just Play Pro and Just Live Pro.

Just Playout 2026.2.0.B1.1558 Release Notes

  • This version includes Composition Builder 2026.0.0.GM.363. Please refer to separate release notes.
  • When configured for NDI output, there is an additional text field to define the name of the NDI stream. This can be useful if you want to use a name different to the channel's name, or if you want two Just Out Apps on the same Mac on the same channel as redundancy. In this case, you need to give the second backup Just Out a different NDI name to prevent NDI naming conflicts.

Just Playout 2026.2.0.B1.1557 Release Notes

  • This version includes Composition Builder 2026.0.0.GM.363. Please refer to separate release notes.
  • Increased delay executing the failover events from backup to primary for Just Play channels to ensure that Just Out is fully configured and playing out before any events are triggered (e.g. ATEM switch).

Just Playout 2026.2.0.B1.1556 Release Notes

  • This version includes Composition Builder 2026.0.0.GM.363. Please refer to separate release notes.
  • When configuring a SRT or UDP output, there are 3 new additional controls to define the audio output such as stereo or mono, AAC or LPCM and the number of channels.
  • Fixed a bug that could occasionally result in Just Control "freezing" (spinning wheel), requiring a "Force Quit" to stop. If left in the frozen state, Just Control would consume memory until being suspended by the system due to low memory.
  • Fixed a leak that could result in Just Control having a large number of threads after running for a significant length of time.

Just Playout 2026.1.0.GM.1555 Release Notes

  • This version includes Composition Builder 2026.0.0.GM.362. Please refer to separate release notes.

  • This version includes Composition Builder 2026.0.0.GM.361. Please refer to separate release notes.
  • When configuring an "empty" multi-viewer, the channel connection menu no longer contains any inactive channels, as connecting to an inactive channel isn't possible.
  • The "Device" tab in the configuration panel now has a "Configure REST" button instead of "Open REST API" and "Install Self-Signed Certificate" buttons. These buttons are now contained in a separate panel displayed by clicking "Configure REST".
  • The REST API server port can now be changed in the "Configure REST" panel, or set to 0 to disable the REST server completely if desired.
  • The channel preview is now automatically started without requiring Just Control to connect to the channel, allowing "headless" integration without the need to run Just Control.

Just Playout 2026.1.0.B1.1553 Release Notes

  • This version includes Composition Builder 2026.0.0.GM.361. Please refer to separate release notes.

  • The REST API now supports https:// connections in addition http://. If there is a certificate installed at ~/Library/Application Support/ToolsOnAir/certs/server.p12, then it will be used and the REST server will only accept https:// connections. If there is no certificate installed, the REST server will only accept http:// connections. If there is currently no certificate installed, the configuration panel now has an additional "Install Self-Signed Certificate (HTTPS)" button that will install a default self-signed certificate on the local system. Note that most modern browsers will show a security alert when using such a certificate and ask you to accept the certificate before connecting.

  • Fixed a bug that resulted in HTML infinite FX not being loaded/displayed after a restart of Just Out.
  • Fixed the App name used in the warning alert if AJA or Blackmagic was selected as the input or output device without a device attached.

Note that devices can only be shown once Just Out has been started once. If Just Out has not yet been started, or if no relevant devices were found on the system, a relevant warning is displayed.
  • After installation, the “/Applications/Just Playout” folder now contains three additional Apps, “Just Out 2”, “Just Out 3” and “Just Out 4”. In combination with “Just Out”, this allows you to start up to 4 Just Out engines on the same system for multi-channel operation.
  • Changed the default port used to send the preview from 8554 to 8590 to prevent collisions with some RTC/WebRTC services.
  • When configuring a new system, the setup wizard has an additional popup menu allowing you to set up a single channel system, or a multi-channel system with 2, 3 or 4 channels. Note that AJA hardware is not currently supported for multi-channel setups.

Just Playout 2026.0.0.A1.1500 Release Notes

  • This version includes Composition Builder 2026.0.0.GM.344. Please refer to separate release notes.
  • Updated to NDI v6.3 for improved performance and stability when using NDI.
  • Video and SimpleFX layers have a clickable “visibility” button in the timeline as was previously already the case for FX layers. Clicking on the button toggles the visibility on and off, or, in addition there is a new “Toggle Visible Layers” menu in the “View” menu with menu items for the individual layers. Finally, these menu items have keyboard shortcuts allowing quick toggling of layer visibility using the keyboard.
  • If the engine is configured for live input, hiding the video layer automatically shows the live input. This can be used as an “emergency broadcast” or “breaking news” feature, allowing instant switching from the current schedule to live input and back. Note that scheduled items are never altered by this action, so some items may never be played out at all. For example, if you hide the video layer for 30 minutes in order to show the live input, anything previously scheduled for those 30 minutes will never be played out.
